One of my favorite hymns to sing is Victory in Jesus. “Oh, Victory in Jesus, My Savior, forever, he sought me and bought me, with his redeeming blood, He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him, He plunged me to Victory beneath the cleansing flood,” We sing that quite regularly a song written in 1939.
As we discover the purpose for which we were created, we will find joy and sense of fulfillment that goes straight to the core of our being. Even more, we discover that our success doesn’t depend on us, but on the Holy Spirit who leads and empowers us.
Life has good days, bad days, happy and sad days, all in which God challenges us to keep humble and to trust Him. Our calling is to be like Jesus, which requires a refining of our character and faith.
I take comfort in the words of this song because I get from it, that the key to Victory, is walking and abiding in Christ and knowing that no matter how tough things get the victory is mine through Jesus. So, keep trusting God and walking in His will because it is life at its best. My prayer is Jesus, teach us to abide in You, to do Your will, and to trust You regardless of our circumstances.
