Lady Cardinals fall to Watseka and Oakwood

The Chrisman Lady Cardinals were on the road to take on the Watseka Warriors on January 4th.
In the first quarter, Watseka’s Brianna Denault, Natalie Peterson, Ava Swartz and Becca Benoit gave the Warriors an 11-4 lead over the Lady Cardinals.
In the second quarter, Chrisman’s Addison Phipps and Olivia Radke were able to give the Lady Cards five points, but they continued to trail 19-9 going into halftime.
In the fourth, while the rest of the team held the Cards scoreless, Watseka’s Ava Swartz fired off nine of the twenty-two points for the Warriors.
The Lady Cards continued to trail, 41-9.
In the fourth, Olivia Radke’s six points was not enough for a Cards win. The Watseka Warriors defeated the Lady Cardinals with a final score of 48-15.
For Chrisman, Olivia Radke led with nine points. Taylor Jones, Makenzie Mitchell and Addison Phipps had two points each.
For Watseka, Ava Swartz led with twelve points, followed by Becca Benoit with ten. Brianna Denaoult ended the game with six points.
Christa Holohan and Jasmine Essington had five points each, followed by Megan Martin with three.
Natalie Peterson, Kaylie Lange and Emily Miller ended the game with two points each, followed by Elizabeth Wittenborn with one point.
The following night, the Lady Cardinals hosted the Oakwood Lady Comets.
In the first quarter, the Comets came out blazing taking a 21-0 lead.
In the second, the Cards scored just four points, leaving them trailing 34-4 going into halftime.
For the remainder of the game, the Lady Cards sank just nine points in the third and fourth quarters.
The Lady Comets burned the Cards with a final score of 50-13.
