On January 4th, the Chrisman Cardinals were on the road to take on the Wateska Warriors.
Throughout the game, both teams were evenly matched. This meant it would come down to skill to determine who would come away with the win.
In the first quarter, the Warriors were able to get an 8-6 lead over the Cardinals.
In the second, the Cards battled with the Warriors that kept a narrow 24-23 lead going into halftime.
In the third, the Cardinals were able to finally get the lead with a score of 37-35 and in the fourth quarter, the boys battled back and forth, but the Cards came away with a 54-50 victory.
On January 6th, the Cardinals hosted the Oakwood Comets.
In the first quarter, the Comets jumped out to a 23-8 lead over the Cardinals.
In the second, Oakwood tagged on another nineteen points to Chrisman’s eight. The Comets continued to lead 43-16 going into halftime.
For the remainder of the game, the Cardinals would fight for a victory, but the Comets early lead was too much for the Cards to overcome and the birds were dealt a 74-47 loss against Oakwood.
On January 9th, the boys were back on the road to take on the Martinsville Bluestreaks.
In the first quarter, the Bluestreaks took a 15-8 lead over the Cardinals.
In the second, Chrisman was able to shrink the lead to 26-20 going into halftime.
In the third quarter, the Cardinals continued to trail 44-34.
With the game on the line, Chrisman scored an impressive twenty-three points in the fourth, giving them a 57-56 victory over the Martinsville Bluestreaks.
