The Towne and Countrie Garden Club met December 9, 2022 at Wayside United Methodist Church in Clinton, IN. The theme was “Christmas Brunch.” Hostesses were Evelyn Hixon, Jo-Ann Jones, and Marge Foor. There was a $15 gift exchange. A Dirty Santa game was played.
Jo-Ann led the group in singing “Silent Night.” Evelyn read two Christmas-themed essays.
President Linda Kelley, led the group in reciting the Club Collect. Grace was given by Mary Lou Reader. The roll call question was, “What is your favorite Christmas song?”
The secretary’s report was read and approved. The treasurer’s report was given by Nancy Blackburn. No correspondence received. No old business.
For new business, the new officers were installed.
For committee reports, Nancy Blackburn, as in-coming president, asked for volunteers for the civic committee. It will focus on Clinton. Kay Smith and Diane Scott volunteered. Nancy also asked the members of the Ways and Means committee to continue serving on the committee. All members present agreed. No announcements.
The December birthdays were acknowledged and greetings were extended to Rae Marietta and Caroline Heath.
The next meeting will be February 10, 2023 at 11am (IN time). Place is to be determined. The theme is “Ancient Voices Over America’s Wetlands.” The hostesses are Brenda Alabaugh and Linda Kelley.
There were twenty-one members present.
