The Chrisman High School knows how to put on a show! On the eve of Junior Carnival, the classes hosted their annual ‘Small Town Throw Down’ on November 4th.
The throw down is a volleyball tournament featuring all four classes as well as their parents and staff at CHS.
The beginning bracket featured the classes taking on their parents.
All of the classes advanced, but the Sophomores were upset by their parents! The sophomores had nothing to worry about as the Juniors knocked the parents out of the tournament the next match.
The Senior parents and Senior class collided as they hit the court. The Seniors proved they may know more than their parents, at least when it comes to volleyball, as they advanced to the next round.
The Chrisman staff took on the Freshman class in the next bracket. The underclassmen showed the staff who was boss as they advanced to take on the Seniors.
The Freshman parents had another chance to advance as they took on the Sophomores, but the Sophomore class advanced to the next round.
The Staff and Senior parents had another chance for victory as they took the court to face each other.
The Chrisman staff would advance to the semi finals before they were taken out by the Juniors.
The Championship match came down to the Freshman and Juniors. Moments were tense, but the Juniors came out victorious and were the Champions of the 2022 Small Town Throw Down.
The next evening, the classes prepared for Junior Carnival. Prior to the show, a Chicken Noodle dinner was served from 4:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. Along with the dinner, items were available as part of the silent auction. Raffle tickets were also available for those attending to purchase. Money from both the raffle and auction went to the Junior Class to help pay for prom.
The variety show followed the dinner at 7:00 p.m. The show featured acts from each class, student council, cheer team and individual students show casing their talents.
Coronation followed the show around 8:00 p.m. Candidates for Junior Carnival King and Queen were: Freshman- Seth Ellis and Leah Phipps; Sophomores- Jonathan Neal and Layken Hovis; Juniors- Durham Switzer and Addison Phipps and Seniors- Devonte Hicks and Saige Tyler.
Last year’s King and Queen were Triston Lehmkuhl and Alivia Brinkley. 2022 Little Miss and Mister were Reese Knight and Oscar Tingley.
After much anticipation, the 2022 Junior Carnival King and Queen were announced with Seth Ellis as King and Addison Phipps as Queen.
