The Chrisman Area Community Club met October 17 at the Chrisman Café. Twenty members and two guests, Shawna and Sabrina Boyer, enjoyed a delicious meal and evening together.
Vice-President Rich Denbo opened the meeting. Minutes of the last meeting and treasurer’s reports were approved.
Events related to the Chrisman Sesqui-Centennial and Chrisman Days were reviewed. Everyone felt it was a wonderful week for our community.
The Halloween Costume Contest was set for Saturday, October 29, and is co-sponsored by the First Farmers Bank in Chrisman. It will begin at 4:30 in the downtown park. Categories include “All age 2 and younger”, “Princesses and Fairies”, “Cartoon, Movie & TV Characters”, “Witches, Monsters, & Ghosts”, “All Groups of 2 or more no matter what the costume”, “Miscellaneous entries”, and “All age 13 and older, no matter what the costume”. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each category. You must be in the correct category to be considered. Refreshments will be served in the pavilion. In case of rain, the contest will be moved to the gym at the Chrisman Christian Church.
The club will also hold its annual Christmas parade with lighted floats on Wednesday, December 7, at 7 p.m. A chili/hot dog supper will be held at the American Legion from 4:00-7:00 before the parade begins. Donations will be appreciated for the meal.
With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned. If you have any questions or are interested in joining the Chrisman Area Community Club, you may contact Diane Williams at 822-5800.
