On Tuesday, September 27th, the Chrisman Branch of First Farmers Bank and Trust began construction on their new ITM. An ITM is an innovative new banking technology that allows customers to conduct teller transactions via the latest video conferencing capabilities at the drive thru without utilizing tubes.
The ITM will also allow FFB&T customers to handle many transactions that are available at the drive through and will provide extended hours for customers who may come back into Chrisman after the bank has closed.
Customers will be able to complete ninety-five percent of their transactions that have been completed through the drive through with the ITM’s. You will be able to make check/savings deposits- check deposits; cash deposits (bills only); checking/savings withdrawals- limit of $3,000 per transaction; account inquiries (balance, available credit on loans, loan payment and due date, CD and loan maturity information); fund transfers between your FFB&T accounts (check cashing and loan payments- accepted by cash, check or transfer from your FFB&T account); exchange of bills for current customers ($100); stop pays if branch lobby is closed; cash dispensed through ATM with PIN and $500 limit per day and debit cards- deactivate a card if lost or stolen.
When using the ITM, a virtual teller will be prompted when a customer pulls up to the ITM/ATM machine and touches the screen. When you are ready, simply touch the screen to start and the teller will guide you with step by step instructions. For an ATM transaction, just insert you card.
The option is available to just use the ATM feature by simply inserting you cart into the ITM and follow the steps you would take with a typical ATM machine.
The installation of these machines open up new and different opportunities for customers. With the ITM’s, faster services can be provided along with extended business hours for customers and adds a safety factor for the employees.
There are multiple ways the remote teller can identify you: They will ask to scan your driver’s license, key in your account number and security questions will be asked and key in your social security number and security questions will be asked. All of your transactions will no be charged a fee.
Cashier’s checks, money order, rolled coin and cash advances will not be available through the ITM as they were not available through drive through. These type of transactions will have to be completed inside the branch. If you would like to by pass the ITM, you always have the option to go inside for all of your banking needs.
The ITM machines will not be replacing any of the current tellers or staff. Though this upgrade a total of eight new positions have been created. The remote tellers are all FFB&T employees and are located at the Kokomo Square branch.
ITM’s will bot be able to open a new account, close an account, apply for a loan, purchase a cashier’s check, send a wire, get cash advance or a money order, provide or accept rolled coin or accept property tax payments or utility bills.
If you own a business, this ITM technology is idea for consumer transactions that are less complex. Business owners can use the ITM for business transactions that are similar to traditional transactions. Many business transactions are more complex in nature. For those type of transactions, it is recommended to bring those into the branch.
Virtual teller are available for extended banking hours from 6:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m on Saturday. This will allow FFB&T to continue servicing customers beyond traditional banking hours. ITM’s provide ATM services 24×7, 7 days a week.
