The Chrisman Area Community Club met Monday, August 16, at the home of Rich and Nancy Denbo. Twenty-nine members enjoyed a delicious meal together.
President Dan Moore opened the meeting. Minutes of the previous meeting and treasurer’s reports were approved.
WCIA’s “Hometown Chrisman” will be held Friday, August 26 from 4-7 p.m. We encourage residents to come to the downtown park during those times and take part in the activities.
A beautiful monument has been placed at the base of a new tree in the downtown park in honor of Duane Fidler.
Those candidates running for Edgar County Sheriff will be available Saturday during Chrisman Days to shuttle people around town.
If you need to use that service, please contact Diane Williams at 822-5800.
CACC’s pancake and sausage breakfast will be held at the American Legion on Saturday, Sept. 10, beginning at 7 a.m.
Garage sales will be held around town Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9 and 10. If you are interested in having your garage sale listed on the map, please contact Kay Fidler at 217-712-1792 before 5 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 5.
Long-time Chrisman resident Mr. Roger Beals will be honored as the Grand Marshal of the Sesqui-Centennial parade on Saturday, Sept. 9, beginning at 3 p.m.
Tickets are still on sale to win the guitar signed by Brett Eldredge.
If you are interested in purchasing a ticket for $10, you may contact Dan Moore at 217-822-2589 or any Community Club member. The drawing will be held Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the downtown park.
The Ministerial Alliance will host a chicken and noodle dinner Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Chrisman Café from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
There will a community-wide church service in the park on Sunday, Sept. 11, beginning at 10 a.m. This will be followed by a fried chicken box lunch prepared by the Chrisman Café.
Those lunches need to be ordered and paid for in advance. Horizon Health will host an ice cream social following the box lunch.
With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned.
If you would like more information or are interested in joining the Chrisman Area Community Club, you may contact Diane Williams at 822-5800.
