The Chrisman Public Library has started their Summer Reading Program entitled “Read Beyond the Beaten Path”. Children will check out books and need to complete a short form to be eligible for a free ice cream/drink and to enter the raffle for a $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble.
If the child, in the fall will be in Kindergarten through third grade they must read seven books. If the child will be in fourth to eighth grade, they must read two age/grade appropriate chapter books.
All children, in all grades, will receive a short form when checking out the books. They will need to write the title of the book (s), author of the book, a sentence or two of what the book was about, their favorite part and have the form signed by a parent before receiving the ice cream/drink coupon.
Each child, in Kindergarten through third grade who reads twenty-five books by August 19, 2022, will receive a certificate to Monical’s Pizza for a free 8” pizza (thin crust with one topping).
Each child, in fourth to eighth grade that reads twelve chapter books by August 19, 2022, they will receive a certificate to Monical’s Pizza for a free 8” pizza (thin crust with one topping).
The Chrisman Public Library will keep a chart so the participants may check their progress. Parental permission to include their child will be requested and first names only will be used unless two children have the same name, then the last name initial will be used.
If the children from all grades together read a total of two hundred books between June 13 and August 19, 2022, the Chrisman Public Library will give a prize to the child from each grade category who reads the most books.
