Chrisman Library News

he bookmark contest! We will have copies of each child’s creation for sale during Chrisman Days this fall. This will benefit the library and make the families happy at the same time! Perfect!
The kids’ summer reading program, READ BEYOND THE BEATEN PATH, has just begun. It is not too late to sign up! It will be a lot like last years and the kids can earn coupons for free ice cream, soda, and pizza. Children will check out books and need to complete a short form to be eligible for a free ice cream/drink and to enter the raffle for a $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble.
If the child (in the fall) will be in Kindergarten to 3rd grade they will need to read 7 books and kids in 4th through 8th grade will need to read 2 chapter books (100 or more pages). All children, will receive a short form when checking out the books and will write the title, author, and a sentence or two explaining what the book was about, their favorite part, and have the form signed by a parent to receive the free coupon.
Every child in K-3rd who reads 25 books by August 19, 2022 and every child in 4th -8th who reads 12 books will receive a coupon for a free Monical’s Pizza, 8” thin crust with one topping.
Chrisman Public Library will keep a chart so the participants may check their progress. Parental permission to include their child will be requested and first names only will be used unless 2 children have the same first name, then the last name initial will be used.
