The Chrisman Nite HCE (Home, Community & Education) met at the Chrisman Christian Church for their May meeting. Hostesses were Trudi Brinkley and Gail Pruitt.
The meeting was called to order by the president Vickie Hollingsworth. Roll call was answered by the members present each telling which they prefer: Inside and cozy or outside with dirty hands? It was announced that the HCE scholarship was presented to Maecy Johnson by Nancy Harper and Gail Pruitt at the Honors program at the Chrisman High School.
The Edgar county 4-H has asked each member of our unit to furnish two dozen cookies.
They need to be two in a sealed bag and delivered to the 4-H grounds on Friday to help with their annual 4-H Bar-B-Q which will be held on June 25. A sign-up sheet was passed for members to sign up to work and donate pies for the 4-H fair to be held on July 24-27.
The Bake-Off fundraiser to be held during Chrisman Days, on Saturday, September 10 was discussed. There will be two divisions: one for kids and one for adults.
Anyone can participate by entering a pie, cake, cookies or yeast breads.
It is free to enter the competition and monetary prizes will be awarded. Baked goods must be brought to the Chrisman Christian Church by 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10 for judging. Our June meeting will be held on June 23 with Glenda Milam as hostess.
There will be an installation of officers at the meeting. HCE is open to anyone that would like to join.
