Clifford James Huffman

Clifford James “Kip” Huffman, 54, of Chrisman, Illinois, passed away at 9:22 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2022, at OSF Heart of Mary Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. He was a chef at the former Crossroads Restaurant of Chrisman and had also worked for many years in nursing.
He was born April 20, 1968, in Anderson, Indiana, the son of Michael Kent and Mary (Cox) Huffman. He married Angela E. Simpson on May 30, 2003, in Paris, Illinois, and she survives.
Other survivors include his parents, Michael K. (Jeanette) Huffman of Kokomo, Indiana, and Mary (Danny) Ramsey of Crossville, Tennessee; his maternal grandmother, Mabel Cox of Crossville; four children, Michael W. Huffman (Kim Chambers) and Joseph B. Totten both of Chrisman, and Danika C. Huffman and Blake V. (Tiffany) Rose both of Greenville, North Carolina; sisters, Kelley Donahue of Winter Haven, Florida and Terri Freiji of Carmel, Indiana; brothers, Jon Silcox of Kokomo, Indiana and Mark Silcox of Austin, Texas; nine grandchildren, Payton, Logan, and Lilyann Chambers, Russell Batchelor, Wesley James Huffman, Lillyanna Huffman, Rosalee Huffman, Ryker Stone, and Charleigh Jean Huffman; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kimberly Branim.
Mr. Huffman was a U.S. Army veteran of Operation Desert Storm and was a member of Chrisman American Legion Post #477. Cliff was an avid NASCAR fan – a loyal Dale Earnhardt enthusiast who was known to boast that his daughter was born on Dale’s birthday. He was a talented chef who loved cooking for others. He especially enjoyed computers and gaming. Although he was happiest when working in the kitchen or on his computer, Cliff also loved building things, woodworking, being outdoors, and going for drives in his convertible.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to Chrisman American Legion Post #477.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2021, at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris. Military rites were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home by Chrisman American Legion Post #477. Interment will be private in Light-Carmel Cemetery near Scottland, Illinois, at a later date.
