Calling all flower lovers, children and Dads! The annual HANGING BASKET sale is Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 8AM to noon at the gazebo across from the Library.
This is the perfect time to get flowers for Mom, Grandma or just to beautify your home! This fundraiser helps the Library purchase new items to make our Library better for our patrons and have more to choose from. You can also enjoy the annual Pancake breakfast at the American Legion from 7AM to 10AM, if the food lasts that long!
We are including a picture of a pink geranium that came from Flowers on Main last year. This is a beautiful flower and it has bloomed for over a year.
There are raised beds still available for this summer. The cost is $25 to rent a bed to plant whatever you want – flowers and/or vegetables. If your home garden is filling in, this is a good place to expand. If you want to experiment with new plants, the raised bed is also a good place to try a new vegetable or flower.
Last year we had sunflowers, tomatoes of all kinds and some planted beans and lettuce or cabbage. So bring your seedlings or borrow from our “Seed Library” (see next paragraph) to start your planting experience.
We have a SEED “LIBRARY” that you can try out! You can come into the Library and get some elephant dill, broccoli, pork chop tomato, Dazzling Blue Kale, Okra, Mibuna mustard greens and watermelon seeds. Plant them at home or in one of the raised beds. Once you harvest your garden, you can donate your seeds to the Library so next year someone else can grow what you did.
