Dan Moore, CACC President
I hope everyone enjoyed the warmer weather, even though it did not last long. Hopefully, one last cold spell this week and it shall be sunny and warmer. I heard a few lawn mowers roaring over the weekend and people out sprucing up their lawns. It seems like a homeowner gets one task completed and many more to follow as it seems to be never ending. I guess we should be thankful that we are still able to do what we can.
I was a vendor this past weekend at Shiloh School outside of Hume. There were approximately twenty-five other vendors in the gymnasium. It was so disappointing to see such a low turnout. There is a lot of work, time and money involved putting on such events. People, we need to support our surrounding communities in order for them to survive. There was also a Jonah Fish Fry that evening and again, low attendance. I feel sorry for all the people who donate their time and energy to put on such events and not many people show up. Thanks to the Hume Spring Fling organizing committee for all you do!
The Chrisman Prom was last weekend and it appeared everyone had a good time. The post prom was a huge success and was enjoyed by all. Thanks to Jody Kirby for organizing this event. Thank you to Diana Phillips, who in the past, got prizes and money for the event. Kudos to the businesses and individuals who make donations for this to happen.
Something special will be hanging over highway one in the next few weeks. Two banners advertising Chrisman’s Sesquicentennial will catch the eye of many motorists. The banners were purchased with funds from the Chrisman Area Community Club and the City of Chrisman. The planning committee is working very hard in planning this historical event. Thanks to all who have been involved and for great suggestions. We still need many volunteers to help with other events throughout the four-day celebration. It is heart breaking to see only a few citizens involved or making monetary donations, but they will be the first to complain or criticize what the committee has planned. Where are all of the Chrisman supporters?
Please keep praying for the people of Ukraine and other local families that have been affected by illness or death in the family. Hoping you all have a Happy and Safe Easter. He has risen!
