The Priscilla Club met on March 2, 2022 at Randall Manor. Karen Randall and Linda Hahn served luscious cherry cheesecake to thirteen members and one guest. The tables were decorated for Spring/Easter.
Carol Yaw called the meeting to order and thanked Mary Marvin for hosting the meeting. Carole read a poem entitled “The Softness”.
Minutes for the last meeting were unavailable. The treasurer’s report was given and approved. Marcella Coy read a thank you note from the Yaw Family thanking the Priscilla Club for their donation to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Larry Yaw’s name.
There was discussion and agreement among members to have a history display of the Priscilla Club during the sesquicentennial in September. Judy Holbert had roll call about St. Patrick’s Day.
Connie Waggaman, a former Chrisman teacher and whose mother was named Iris gave an interesting and informative program on the ‘Iris’. In our area of the world, the most common iris that is grown is the bearded iris.
There are many kinds of irises grown all over the world. Connie had visuals of the Siberian, Croatian and Japanese iris’s just to name a few. Each of the members received a potted iris start to take home.
Our next meeting is April 6th, 2022 at the Hidden Garden. New members have been invited for possible new membership.
Hostesses for April are Crystal Jenkins and Frances Brubaker and the meeting will be held at Hidden Garden. Social time followed to end the meeting.
