The Chrisman Public Library Board met on December 9th. Statistics for November was two-hundred and ninety items loaned to patrons. Two hundred and thirty-nine items loaned to libraries. A total of eighty items were borrowed from other libraries. One hundred and thirty-five new items were cataloged, twenty-five electronic books and ten Internet user sessions.
A total of eight wreaths were sold for the library for a total fundraising amount of two hundred and forty dollars.
Santa made a stop at the Chrisman Public Library after the Christmas in Chrisman parade. A total of forty-six kids and thirty-five adults attended. The kids sat down and listened to Santa read ‘The Night Before Christmas’ poem.
Chrisman student Grayson Strange passed out candy canes as the children finished talking to Santa. Each child got to choose a book from the front table close to Santa and everybody for a Christmas tree ornament kid and snack as they left.
Donna Malone and Lori Mallory also helped with the event. Donna remembered the candy canes and Lori took an accurate head count, making things run smooth. The American Legion also gave the library $100 to help pay for the expenses. The library extended a thank you to the Legion and volunteers.
The librarians are currently finding more information concerning the Elanco grant. So far, no information had been sent other than they were having an audit. Per Capita requirements were also finished at the meeting.
