Reese Anderson
The National Junior Angus Association is excited to wrap up a great month with our latest Herd Pick! Meet Reese Anderson of Chrisman, Illinois!
Reese attended her first NJAS in 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and her favorite NJAS was in 2019 in Louisville, Kentucky. Not only did her heifers do well that year, but she also met many new people. This is one of her favorite parts of the NJAA — the opportunity to be around people who share the same passion, which influences each other in positive ways.
Reese encourages new NJAA members to step out of their comfort zones and try new things. “The friendships you make in this industry will be some of the best, so go out and meet new people,” she says. Attending the 2019 LEAD conference in Nashville is one of her most memorable NJAA experiences, because of the many new friendships she gained.
Reese considers her brothers as two of her biggest mentors throughout her show career. “From watching them, I have gained knowledge on how to prepare in the show barn in order to succeed in the show ring,” she says.
In addition to Angus cattle, Reese enjoys photography, volleyball and cheerleading. She also serves as her school’s High School Confidential reporter for the Champaign News-Gazette.
Congratulations, Reese! Great work making the most out of your experiences as an NJAA member.
