The Chrisman Area Community Club met November 15 at the First Baptist Church. Twenty members enjoyed a delicious Italian meal catered by Joy Stewart from the Old Brick Inn. The club welcomed their newest members, Scott and Lisa Russell.
President Dan Moore opened the meeting. Minutes of the last meeting and the treasurer’s report were approved.
The Halloween Costume Contest, co-sponsored by the First Farmers Bank, was reviewed.
Christmas in Chrisman will be held Wednesday, December 1. The club will host a chili supper from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the American Legion. They will serve chili, hot dogs, chips, cake, and beverages for a free-will donation. During most of that time carriage rides will be available which will go around the square for a donation. Those are provided by Merrybeth Carriage Rides from Champaign.
At 7 p.m. there will be a Christmas parade. It will begin at Pleasant Meadows and end after going around the square. There will be lighted floats sponsored by many of the local businesses, bands, and of course, Santa Claus.
After taking care of other club business, the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be Monday, February 21.
