2021 Junior Carnival King and Queen Triston Lehmkuhl and Alivia Brinkley
The Chrisman High School Junior Class hosted the 2021 Junior Carnival on Saturday, November 6th. Before the show, parents and attendees were served a spaghetti dinner from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the show beginning shortly after.
The show began with an introduction from Reese Anderson and Makenzie Mitchell.
The first act of the show was a performance by the Chrisman High School Cheerleaders. Kendrew Green then performed ‘Banana’, which was himself eating a banana to the tune of ‘Space Odessey’ – wrestler Ric Flair’s intro music.
The Junior class took the stage next with Friend Trivia. Participants Autumn Baker, Peyton Reasor, Saige Tyler, Alivia Brinkley, Nic Eddy, Summer Hopkins, Makenzie Mitchell and Reese Anderson answered questions about who they were paired with and then Hailey Valdes took the stage to perform ‘Before He Cheats’ by Carrie Underwood.
Other acts were ‘Invisible Bench’ by the Junior Class and ‘Movies’ by the Senior Class. Karson Lewsader and Linkon Snedeker made the most of their last time on the Junior Carnival stage, performing in various skits. Some of those skits involved dancing in a tutu and with a yoga ball.
Lewsader performed ASMR by using stimuli that can trigger an ASMR response.
For example, the crinkling of paper, chewing into the microphone and gulping down a soda. ASMR stands for Autonomous – spontaneous, self-governing, with or without control; Sensory – about the senses or sensation; Meridian – signifying a peak, climax, or point of highest development and Response – referring to an experience triggered by something external or internal.
Victoria LaBaume performed the song ‘You’ll Be Back’ from the Broadway hit ‘Hamilton’. LaBaume involved the crowd, having them sing along with her at the end of the song.
To close the show, Asa Hoult and Addi Phipps performed the short skit ‘Playing the Recorder’.
Once all of the performances were complete, the Junior Class thanked all of those who helped make the night a success.
A thank you was extended to the businesses and families that donated items to be raffled off. Junior Class sponsors Brandon Getche, Rebecca Hamersley, Junior Class Parents, Randi Tingley, Mr Huber and the Chrisman High School staff were also thanked.
The class concluded saying “without all of you, tonight wouldn’t have been possible. Thank you all again for joining us tonight.”
