Something new will be available to the Chrisman Community at this year’s Chrisman Days. A petting zoo will take place on September 11th from noon to two o’clock in City Park.
The idea came about when Community Club President Dan Moore asked his sister, Anita Marvin if she would be willing to put a petting zoo together.
“I added the face painting along with asking businesses to do balloons,” Anita said. “First Farmers will be providing them along with the goodie bags. The free face painting will be done by the talented Lindsey Franz.”
Children will also be given popsicles while they wait their turn for their faces to be painted. With a new event, those involved hope that it is well received.
“We will continue if it does well this year.”
So far, the animals lined up include a llama, alpaca, guinea pigs, two goats, kittens and a mini horse. More animals are expected to be there, but Anita has a few in mind that she would like to see.
“Maybe a chicken or a piglet,” Marvin said.
So stop by and see the animals, get free popsicles, face painting, goodie bags and balloons. You can also sign up for door prizes! Also, if you have a pet that you would like to bring, contact Anita Marvin at 217-269-2934.
All animals must be on a leash, cage or pen. You must stay with your animal and clean up their mess as soon as its over. All animals must also be current on their vaccines.
