Chrisman Sewer & Health Commissioner Bryan Haddix
I am proud to have called Chrisman home for most all of my 58 years. I enjoy some of the advantages and challenges of small rural community life. I currently sere as the sewer and health Commissioner. It has been a learning experience and I still have a lot to learn.
Q: Why did you want to be on the City Council?
A: I was interested in learning more about the inner workings of city government. So when I was asked to fill an empty seat on the board I said yes and hope I could or have made something good of it.
Q: What are the most important issues facing the city government?
A: As with most any small organization, I would have to say funding is most important. That being followed by having good, capable employees.
Q: What are your greatest strengths as a City Commissioner?
A: I feel like I have a broad background. I sometimes refer to myself as a Jack of many trades and a master of none.
Q: What do you consider to be your weaknesses?
A: Organizational skills or lack there of.
Q: What improvements do you think Chrisman needs?
A: We are currently working on water and sewer projects. Most of which are EPA mandates, because of both new EPA rules and lack of maintenance.
Q: What achievements do you think Chrisman has had since you’ve been on the council?
A: We have made progress on the water and sewer projects. We are also near completion on a new pavilion in Centennial Park. We have worked on some drainage issues with more work still needed, but these things are done by employees, contractors, engineering firms and board members all working together.
Q: What goals do you have for improving our town?
A: I would like to see the new sewer plant completed. We should be seeing work begin on the lift station upgrades pretty soon.
Q: What can the people of Chrisman do to help you in making our town better?
A: Some of the biggest things would be to support local business and keep tax dollars in the community. Also keep the town clean and respect your neighbors.
Q: Do you plan to run for re-election?
A: I am on the fence. We just have to see what the future brings.
We want to thank Commissioner Bryan Haddix for taking the time to answer our questions and for doing such a great job serving and representing our town and its citizens.
