Chrisman Community Club plans for Chrisman Days events

Submitted by The Chrisman Area Community Club

The Chrisman Area Community Club met Monday, August 16, at the home of Rich and Nancy Denbo. Twenty-eight members and one guest, Lisa Russell, enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the Denbos.
President Dan Moore called the meeting to order. Minutes of the last meeting and treasurer’s reports were approved.
Thank you notes were read from Eli Johnson for his scholarship and the Pee Wee baseball league for our donation.
A big “THANK YOU” is extended to Eric Marvin for painting the “Welcome to Chrisman” signs at each end of town.
A beautiful red bud tree was planted in the downtown park in honor of Duane Fidler. A plaque will be placed at a later date.
A donation was approved for this year’s Haunted House.
Plans are underway for the pancake breakfast. It will be held Saturday, Sept. 11., at the American Legion from 7:00 a.m. to approximately 10:00 a.m. Cost for pancakes, sausage and beverages will be a free-will donation to the club.
Raffle tickets are now being sold for the Community Club’s annual raffle. 1st prize will be $500, 2nd prize will be $100, and approximately 40 other prizes will be awarded.
The drawing will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, in the downtown park. You do not need to be present to win.
Club members have tickets for sale and they will also be sold Friday night during the ham and bean dinner in the park, at the pancake breakfast Saturday morning and all day Saturday in the park.
If you have any questions regarding the raffle, you may contact Diane Williams at 822-5800. Thank you to all the businesses who have donated prizes for the drawing.
The annual parade will be held Saturday of Chrisman days beginning at 3:00. Entries will sign up across from Pleasant Meadows.
The next meeting will be September 20 at the Chrisman Café. With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned.
If you have any questions or are interested in joining the Chrisman Area Community Club, you may contact Diane Williams at 822-5800.
